We welcome you to visit Rainbow Hill Daylily Farm! For those not familiar with our daylily nursery, we’re located in the Lafayette, Indiana area, not far from The Boilermaker campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette! We would like to thank all our daylily customers over the years for their purchases and warm comments about our daylily nursery. Each year we plan to add more newly hybridized daylilies for sale & display within our landscaping for exclusive new daylily offerings for the world to see! Currently, we are beginning to register and introduce some of our very own hybridized daylilies! Check out a sampling of our hybridized daylily seedlings within our website.
At Rainbow Hill Daylily Farm, we display daylilies from some of the most popular hybridized daylilies on the market. Our daylilies are comprised of some of the newest and most cutting-edge looks from daylily hybridizers such as: Pat & Grace Stamile, Bob Carr, Jeff & Elizabeth Salter and John Kinnebrew just to name a few. Daylily names such as, JERRY NETTLES, LAVENDER BLUE BABY and SPACECOAST STARBURST, are just a few of the current daylily hybrids in the mainstream of Rainbow Hill Daylily Farm‘s hybridizing program.
Growing daylilies in Lafayette Indiana is a hobby Brad Best (owner) began in the fall of 1994. Since that beginning, Brad’s daylily hobby grew beyond that of the average gardener with over an acre of landscaped daylilies! In the summer of 2001, after seven years in a “growing” hobby, Rainbow Hill Daylily Farm was founded and opened up for business. However, the daylilies still remain as a hobby and a way of meeting good people! Today, Brad shares his daylily hobby with his wife Natasha & son Alexander.
What are the advantages of selecting daylilies “in person” at Rainbow Hill Daylily Farm? First of all, our customers get the opportunity to see how the daylily of their choice grows and blooms when it reaches “clump” form. Our mature mother clumps (each about 10-20 fans) allow customers the chance to view a daylily, once it reaches a good mature size for display. Plant habit such as height, bloom size, color and form are also distinguished within a good mother clump. Therefore, our customers can feel confident they have chosen the right plant for their landscaping needs. Secondly, our walk-in customers also get to enjoy the explosions of color radiating down the hillside along with fragrant aromas of thousands of blooming daylilies!
Remember, peak blooming when all mid-season daylilies are in bloom starts about July 4th! KABOOM!!!
